Hi
Glad you found our forum. The web site and this forum are going to be launching in the next couple weeks. It should be a great resource to share information about poker. I have a pretty extensive group of sub-affiliates and we will be using this forum to share information about promoting poker.
About your question of where to advertise your poker site?
That is the million dollar question. Unfortunately, Google and most other search engines quit taking advertisements for gambling related websites about one year ago.
Pay Per click should be ok in theory but the Pay Per click industry is plagued with rampant fraud. Most serious affiliates don't recommend using Pay Per Click it just isnt' worth it.
Without knowing what your website is or who you are targeting it would be difficult to give you any specific advice. But for sake of an example, lets say that you are targetting college age kids (18-24) predominantly male. What you would want to do is find out everything you can about the web surfing habits of that demographic group. Find out what website are popular and then contact the webmasters of the popular sites and enquire about advertising.
Thats just one idea, the most succesful afilliates in the industry are usually very creative in their marketing ideas.
If you'd like to give me a little more info about your site, which demographic group you are targeting, I can try to give you some more specific advice.
I almost forgot to answer your question about the wsopsopons.com site, I personally wouldn't recommend advertising on that sit based on a quick overview. The site does not really offer any quality content and I can't see a lot of traffic being driven from the site. It is basically someones attempt at having the poker public pay for his entry into the WSOP as far as I can tell. But depending on how much the ad costs you could always try it and find out
